Movie of the Week

Frosty the Snowman
1969

Who knew twenty two minutes was enough to make anyone cheerful? Well the 1969 TV animated short of joy proved that it can! Frosty warmed (or cooled) his way into the hearts of millions when this lovable cartoon premiered. It was about the true nature of Christmas and the spirit of joy everyone can and should experience.

Karen is a Christmas loving child as are so many of her friends. When snow arrives and so does recess they go out and make a snowman. A magician loses his magical hat and it lands on Frosty's head! He comes to life as does the wonderful theme song and all of his winter magic! The children soon realize that Frosty will melt in warm weather so they set out to take Frosty to the North Pole, all the while never knowing that the magician is following them. Who knew that the movie could get any better until Santa Clause makes a helpful and happy appearance!

Frosty the Snowman is one of the most warm, cheerful, and joyous animated movies to experience during the holidays. It's a classic that will never tire even in generations to come. It's joy will never burn out and the chill of winter that Frosty brings will never melt!
